[GYM] Leon v. Fantina

The ballroom was a somewhat familiar setting but at the same time, Leon found it overwhelming and bringing back some back vibes. He looked at his clothes and knew he probably looked like a a homeless kid compared to the suits and dresses people were wearing. His thoughts snapped back to Fantina and he nodded, why was she making him so nervous, what was it about her that made him so unsettled. 

"..yeah, I know the rules." He said quietly as he fumbled with two pokeballs. 'why are my hands so sweaty.' He thought as he wiped his hands on his clothing before releasing his pokemon. Standing before him were Aurora and Oberon, his Alolan Ninetales and Umbreon. He nodded to show he was ready but he couldn't look at Fantina in the eye, surely someone like this couldn't have beaten two gym leaders so far.

Leon held his breath as the coin flipped, not because he wanted it in his favor but something about it falling and hitting the ground make his heart beat fast. As the coin hit the floor, Leon saw a flash of a vase smashing and a hand striking him across his face. 

"Nine!" Aurora barked at Leon and snapped him out of his thoughts, she wasn't sure what was going on in his head but now wasn't the time. She decided to go first for the teams sake and hope that she could win.

Now wasn't the time to start thinking about her, Leon had a battle to win and he couldn't let his pokemon down. Popping a sour candy in his mouth, he focused as best he could. He knew ghost types, he was aiming to be an expert in the field and perhaps even be a ghost champion. Seeing the familiar confuse ray, he motioned for Aurora to avoid it.

Aurora did so with ease and grace. Her fur began to mist and the area started to grow cold as her ability began to take hold. At first it was a flurry of snow but it soon turned dangerous. Hail began to fall onto the battle field and hit her enemy whether they liked it or not.

"Aurora, moonblast." Leon spoke up, trying to stay in control. Aurora nodded to Leon before raising her hackles and energy started to build above her. She created a bright blinding moon above the field, illuminating the ballroom in a spectacular manner before unleashing her attack on her opponent.

Haunter. A very close pokemon to Leon's heart and could be a danger to Aurora but she was no pushover. He had picked her specifically for this battle and had to trust her to stand strong. He looked her right in the eyes as she understood, digging her claws into the ground and bracing herself for the sludge bomb. She let out a pained growl as the disgusting poison hit her, soiling her coat. 

"Aurora, payback!" Leon called out. Aurora snarled and her body started to steam with mist and red energy. She pushed forward and slammed into Haunter with an insane amount of damage he had given her. All the while, hail continued to rain down on the two of them.

Leon only barely noticed Aurora stagger as poison coarse through her body, so this was what it felt like being hit with status. He watched as Fantina called for a dodge and switched again. He had to beat her and take advantage of the situation. Rolling the candy around his mouth, he watched as several purple flames began to surround Aurora. 

"Oberon, switch!" he called. The umbreon took no delay, pushing his teammate out of harms way and taking the hit that would have seriously wounded Aurora. He shook off the hex and looked at the ghost with piercing eyes, his body giving off a shimmer since he was a shiny. "That was close...Lets use Psychic!" 

Oberon barked and went eye-wide before a purple pink wave was throw at his target. Unfortunately he took damage from the hail but it was a price Leon was willing to pay.

Oberon's ears fell back as the shiny light began to grow. "Switch, Aurora you got this!" Leon's Ninetales went into action switching out and taking the hit. She felt her fur burn and eyes be blinding by the light but being of the same type, she was able to hold on. Panting, she stopped her foot and growl. "Payback one more time!" 

Aurora sprung up at Mimi with a vengence, giving back the damage.

Leon mind was all over the place, his Ninetales was poisoned, she was barely able to stand and Fantina's pokemon had scratches. He watched as again she dodged the payback move. He pooped a handful of candy in his mouth, some sour, some sweet, he didn't care. "Duhg anf iffe bim" He called out, or tried to with a mouthful of sweets.

Aurora was used to Leon talking with food in his mouth and moved out of the way of the sludge bomb, twitching as the poison continued to affect her. She snapped her maw and built up cold energy before letting loose a beam of ice.
