Marisol's Inspiration
A tearful Goodbye
Growing up on the Sevi Islands was hard for some, but with a island surrounded by water, Marisol quick took to he Hobby of fishing taught to her by her Grandfather Martin. Almost every weekend she went fishing with her Grandfather on the shores of the Island she lived on. On a day just like one of these terrible news awaited her. She woke up bright and early, slamming her tiny feet into her wellington boots to protect them from water, grabbing her yellow beanie hat and rushing to the door for her Grandfather and there he was. "Fisher Price, reporting for duty!" Marisol saluted, her beaming smile revealed a recently lost tooth as she was growing her adult ones. Martin saluted back to her playfully, his bearded smile making him look like a fishing santa. "To the shores, Miss Price!" He roared with a chuckle.
The pair made their way to the beach, Marisol much quicker than her Grandfather, setting up her bait and hook. "I'm going to catch THE LEGENDARY SEA BEAST!" Which was a story on her island, sightings had been seen every now and again but no concrete evidence. Martin chuckled at the girl's enthusiasm. "Maybe one day, Little Poliwag." He became a little more serious, and said to Marisol. "What our are Three Rules." She smiled giddily, she knew them off by heart. "I could list em with my eyes closed. Patience! Persistance! Precision!" She roared. The day went on with them catching a few fish then returning them to the sea.
Silence whistled through the beach for a second when a TWANG interrupted it. Marisol's line pulled taut, and she started to reel it in. "IT'S A BIG ONE!" She screamed, doing her best to pull it up. Her Grandfather rushing to her side to assist. Together the two pulled up the magnificent beast, and ontop of them landed a... Goldeen! Marisol was in awe of the beautiful fish. "Can I keep it Grandpa?! Please!" He saw how happy it made her and knew it would be hard to say no. "Just this once." The pair returned home to put Marisol's new partner Marissa somewhere safe while they could get a pokeball for her.
Weeks went by and things went back to normal, Until one day a knock on her door. She rushed up thinking it was her Grandfather, opening the door with a smile, that faded away as Officer Jenny stood before her. Marisol's Father, Vincent, stood up and looked to her, the two went to the living room as Marisol sat on the stool near the door waiting for what was up. She heard words. "Heart Attack" "Drowned" and "Deceased" at her young age she didn't really understand any of these till her father consoled her, telling her what it meant. In her sorrow she ran to the beach with her fishing rod. Her father running after her, making sure she didn't run into the see. She simply fell to her knees and wept there for a few minutes until her father could coax her back inside.
She vowed to never give up, to keep fishing, and find that legendary beast in the name of her Grandfather.
