• Pokémon Contests are special events where trainers gather to show off their Pokémon through the display of dazzling appeals. Competitors who engage in Pokémon Contests are known as Coordinators. These Coordinators work together with their Pokémon to create masterful spectacles that aim to impress the judges. The goal of a Coordinator is to not only dazzle the judges and audience, but to earn Contest Ribbons. Contest Ribbons are more than just a sentimental token and a piece of fabric. Ribbons are used to differentiate the seasoned Coordinators from the novices. A special festival is held for all of the seasoned Coordinators to compete in to be granted the title of Top Coordinator. This special event is known as the Grant Festival and in Sinnoh, Coordinators are required to earn three ribbons to compete in the festival.• Originating in the Hoenn region, Pokémon coordinating is based on showing off Pokémon in visually impressive ways. It also refers to the act of raising Pokémon particularly for Contests, rather than for regular battles. As a result, it provides Trainers with an alternative to the Badge-collecting quest, giving them a different look at the many charms of Pokémon, as well as a distinct method for interacting with them. Trainers who focus in this area are called Coordinators.• A contest is divided up into two separate rounds, the Appeal Round and then Mystery Round. • In the Appeal Round, each contestant performs an appeal with their Pokémon to display for the judges. The type of appeal will be based on a theme presented before the contest begins. During the appeal, the Coordinator must display an appeal that perfectly captures the chosen theme. The three judges will then determine that contestant's score based on a scale of 10 points, for a total score out of 30 points. The top scoring competitors will move on to the second round, and the rest will be eliminated from the competition. The themes for the appeal round are: Beauty, Cute, Cool, Smart and Tough. It is the coordinator's job to perfectly capture the theme in their appeal in order to move on to the second round. • Beauty - Demonstrate a beautiful display, full of elegance. Is the Pokémon graceful? Is it mesmerizing the audience? • In the Mystery Round, the Roulette Mistress will spin the wheel to determine what event the contestants will be participating in. There are three possible events and they are: Singular Move Display, Specialized Tasks or a Battle Round. • Dice rolls will also be used to determine the theme of the contest, and each theme corresponds with its respective number as displayed in the table below. This is to provide a random aspect so that the same theme is not used repeatedly. If the rolled theme is the same as the previous contest, there will be a re-roll.• Singular Move Display - A new theme will be chosen for each Coordinator to perform an attack. Coordinators will use one attack to accurately depict the newly chosen theme. | ||||||||||||

OOC Info: To participate in the Grand Festival, you must earn three ribbons as opposed to the typical 5. This is just to ensure that there don't have to be 30 contests just to have 5 people compete in the festival. |
