Welcome to Oreburgh City, the home of the coal mines, archaeological sites, and perhaps most notably, Roark, the Rock-type Gym Leader.
One of the most fascinating things about Oreburgh City is just how clean and fresh the air here is, despite the mines below. This is all due to the incredible technological advancement of vents throughout the city, which exchange the stale air of the caves below with fresh above-ground air. These vents were put in place to protect the health of the city residents, and it is safe to say that everyone is pleased.
Blessed with natural resources like natural springs, it is also highly attractive to archaeologists, historians and researchers alike. The area of the city is excellent for preserving finds such as artifacts, relics, and fossils in the soil, and has since become a place where scholars visit often to further unravel their findings and unlock the mysteries of the past. Since tourism rose, more museums have been made to further economic growth, the largest being the Oreburgh Museum of Regional History.
The gym is just west of the center of town, where Roark awaits inside atop a hill of rock for challengers to battle him. The battle area is a rocky, uneven terrain, and a barrier of rock divides the arena from the spectator seats on the sideline. For many trainers, this is their first stop in the Gym Challenge, many underestimating the Gym's typing and entering the arena with the expectation of an easy win.
Do not underestimate the strength of a Rock-type, Trainers, or you may be in for a rocky start on the road to the League.
