Leon remained silent throughout the speeches and the first question. Of course he wasn't going to stand, who would in their right mind stand and admit it was okay to harm pokemon and humans. His eyes darted through the sea of students as he spotted Draco who didn't stand, a surprise but perhaps he didn't want the attention on him or fail the test.
As the room filled with Team Galatic grunts and General Ariadne continued her speech, Leon thought. He thought about the world he was brought into. He never had much of a childhood worth remembering, only a few years with his loving mother until she was killed. He was left with a father than worked and a step-mother who ruled over him with an iron fist. He glanced down at his leg remembering why he lost it. The pain and fear he had all those years ago.
He shifted in his seat as she continued her speech. "To change the world to my vision of the perfect Utopia devoid of pain, violence, or fear" Those words played over in his head. Every day away from his home Leon felt secure but this was coming to an end and he needed something else to keep him distracted from his life.
He leaned forward but stopped as Vander who was two seats down from him stood. At first Leon was shocked but then he understood why. He wasn't going to join, no, he wanted to fight. Typical Vander, always playing hero in these situations. Leon glanced over at Soliel and tried to read him before he could react to Vander's outburst. The guy was always quiet but supportive and Leon figured he would aid Vander and get kicked out.
Leon looked over to the other side of the room, Matt was clearly upset as well and who could blame him, everyone was held hostage, blackmailed. Tapping his foot, the blonde lowered his head and bit the inside of his lip before pushing himself up off his seat and standing there quietly. His hair was shielding his eyes and hood over his head. He stood there silently, not saying a word.
General Ariadne's attention darted to the second blonde to stand with Vander, her teeth gritting slightly as she watched another defy her. "And what. You are going to throw your hard work away-"
"No." Leon spoke up, cutting her off. "Vander is my best friend but we don't always see eye-to-eye."
Vander was at first confused by Leon's words but it soon clicked. "You...you can't be serious Leon.." His voice cracking slightly as he tried to regain his drive. "Leon you fucking idiot!! You're going to join THEM?!"
Leon couldn't looking Vander in the eye as he shuffled his way from their row of seats and towards the front. Students watched in shock and disgust as the ghost-trainer took his place near Team Galatic.
