It was before noon and the weather outside was absolutely beautiful, there was not a cloud present in the sky. It was quite the welcome change in weather from last month's rainstorms which made the students all the more eager to go outside and soak up the sun while they could. The auditorium was abuzz with idle chatter and students were still filing in from the large side doors that spanned from the floor to the ceiling at the left of the room. On the right side of the room were almost equally large glass windows adorned by royal blue drapes with the Azure Academy insignia embroidered across the front of them. It was before noon and the sun was shining into the auditorium, casting a glow across the stage. A large banner hanging above the stage read "Congratulations!" The assembly would be starting any minute and the last of the students trickled in through the doors, repeating the same pattern of looking about the room for a waving friend and quickly making their way over to grab their reserved seat before someone else did. When the last student entered the large doors were closed by the faculty and they too took a seat, except for two purple-haired women who stood off to the side. Vice Principal Beauchamp adjusted the purple updo hairstyle and then made her way up the stage in her signature elegant black dress, her high heels tapping against the wood as she made her way over to the speaker's podium. She gently tapped the microphone a few times to gather the students' attention and within seconds the room was absolutely silent.
"Good morning everyone! I hope you all had a chance to grab some breakfast, you know how I love to talk!" Beauchamp let out a chuckle and a low rumble of laughter from the audience echoed through the auditorium. The Vice Principal smiled and then continued her speech. "I cannot believe that we are almost at the end! It felt just like yesterday that I was speaking to you at your Sorting Ceremony! I just wanted to let you all know that you have been the best students I have ever had and I can not wait to see you walking down the aisle at graduation! You have been absolutely fantastique!" she paused, flashing the students another sparkly smile before continuing. "I will now pass the microphone to our lovely Headmistress Juniper for more information on the subject of graduation!" The Kalosian woman turned her attention to the other purple-haired woman offstage and smiled as Juniper made her way up the steps.
The Headmistress was a beautiful woman with her hair up in a ponytail. She wore a slim black pantsuit with a cinched waist and black open toe heels and lipstick that matched the color of her hair. Beauchamp nodded as she passed the microphone off and traded places with Juniper, making her way off stage. Juniper was met with moderate applause, but nothing on the level of what their previous Headmistress received from just a minor cameo. The students had been wondering when Cynthia would be coming back and they desperately hoped that it would be before their graduation, they didn't want to spend another day - let alone a week with her substitute. Ever since Juniper had shown up the fun was sucked out of everything, leaving the halls devoid of their usual jovial and welcoming nature. Not to mention their workload practically tripled overnight and the ridiculously impossible final exams that a good chunk of the school had failed; it felt as though their professor didn't want them to pass. The only thing that kept them going was what Cynthia taught them about having to do with what they had and what they had was Headmistress Juniper.
"Good morning students and a beautiful one at that, like me, right? Hehe!" Juniper laughed. It was only Juniper who laughed. The woman awkwardly cleared her throat and quickly continued before she embarrassed herself further, forgoing the casualties and getting straight to the point. "Onto the topic of discussion that we're all here for - Graduation! So, the way that graduation works at Azure Academy, according to what I've been told, is that there is one final test to determine whether or not you are worthy of receiving a diploma that identifies you as one of the 'Elite Trainers' that the Sinnoh Region has to offer." Juniper paused upon hearing the students groan and the auditorium instantly filled with hushed voices as students began whispering amongst one another.
Oh come on.. another test? Haven't they tested us enough? If I have to take one more test the hair I still have left is going to gray and fall out!
The Headmistress' bit her lip and her eyes sharply flashed to Beauchamp in annoyance. "Quiet!" she boomed. Her voice resonated throughout the auditorium, silencing the students immediately and causing their eyes to widen in shock. It wasn't unusual for this type of behavior to come from their lovely substitute Headmistress, but it was so sporadic that one could never be unphased by the display of anger. Juniper sucked her teeth and continued speaking, now wanting to get off the stage as quickly as possible. "As I was saying... you will have a test, but it's not something you need to study for." The students let out a collective sigh of relief. Juniper's nostrils flared in exhale as she shook her head at their impatience before resuming her speech. "What I can tell you is that the test will not be administered by your professors, but rather by the board of accreditation known as the Pokémon Confederation. I'm sure some of you must have heard of them before, right?" she mused. Some students in the audience nodded their heads in confirmation while others remained clueless and their eyes continually glazing over in boredom.
Juniper was essentially finished with her introduction so she tried to wrap up as quickly as possible. "Better yet, you won't have to stress over the test," she paused, ""Because we'll be administering the test right now! Don't worry though, it is very quick and if you're clever and kept up on your studies you'll be able to pass it easily. Just be careful with how you answer the questions." The Headmistress flashed the students a smile and looked around the room to assess the audience.
When Juniper was content in her assessment she proceeded to speak.
"So, think you're ready?"
