Personality: Matt is friendly and cheery individual who teeters the line of being social and being on his own. You'll most likely find him outside, exploring the new sights, taking in the atmosphere, etc. He likes talking about historical sites and events, along with different regional cultures and religions. He documents his findings in his journal. He tries to befriend a lot of people, but he tends to judge people by their first impressions and treats them the way they treat him first. Be a cool guy and he'll be cool back, be a jerk and wellllll yeah. In battle, he tends to listen to music to get him "into the zone". He likes it when a plan comes together and voices his displeasure when it doesn't with swears aplenty. When stressed out and/or completely fed up, he completely becomes uncaring, snarky and apathetic towards everyone until he recovers, then he apologizes if he thinks the people he were mean to didn't deserve it. He also has a little sister complex and tries to be protective of girls who are younger than him.

Background: Matt was raised by two retired but well-known expiditioners, Edwin and Sarah Blake. Never settling in one place, the nomadic family hopped from region to region, having to hire tutors for Matt's basic education. But the couple homeschooled Matt on history and outdoor activities, making Matt grow up and having a great sense of wanderlust. Since then, Matt was trained from an early age basic survival, first aid, hiking, climbing and cooking for himself. Now nearing adulthood, he decided to join the Azure Academy to wean himself off his parents' help and become fully independent.
