After a bit of goofing off around some parts of the region, Dallas figured it was time to head to Snowpoint. According to the map of gym leaders, the Snowpoint gym was the furthest away. He figured he would go on ahead and get it out of the way. Dallas looked back to Solaceon before heading off into route 210. After a few moments he went on his way. As he was walking through the route, the fog came in. He was familiar with this fog from when he was heading to the Azure Academy... he took a deep breath, thinking about that place caused him to sweat. He groaned and pushed through it. He didn't know why but when he got to Celestic Town he just started running. He kept running and running and running until he eventually ended up in a cave. It must've been Mt. Coronet. He took a quick breather, holding onto the wall. His breathing sped up. A few tears were about to be shed, but he gritted his teeth and sucked it back in. He wiped his face, putting on a warm beanie and kept moving.
Once out of the cave, he was surrounded by snow. It was everywhere. He had never seen so much in one place before. It truly was a winter wonderland. And it was cold as fuck. Dallas reached for Charizard's Poke Ball in his scarf, only to have a blue beam fly out from out of his pocket, swirling in front of it. It was revealed that Swinub popped out of it's ball all on it's own. "I- what are you doing out?" Swinub sniffed the air and began excitedly jumping up and down. Being an Ice-type, it was excited to see snow for the first time. It began rolling around in it. Dallas chuckled. "Alright, you can stay out for a while, but I'm still freezing." Dallas called out his Charizard, staying close to it's flame. While Dallas did this, Charizard was busy looking at it's breath in the cold.
After a bit of a hike, Dallas noticed a few large bushes with succulent berries hanging from them. These berries did well in the cold it seems. Dallas waddled over to the berries, picking a few to snack on. Swinub went straight to eating them right off the vine. Dallas fed some to his Charizard, but it didn't seem to like the berries much, spitting them out into the snow. "Wha? You don't like these? These are good man" Dallas said, popping a few more in his mouth. Charizard cringed its face and turned around. Dallas stuffed a few in a zip-lock bag he just happened to have on him. Right when he was prepared to turn away, there was rustling in the trees. Dallas and co. watched as a Beartic walked out from the trees growling. Charizard began growling as hell. "Oh boy..." Dallas attempted to calm it by standing still, only for Swinub to bounce towards it. "Swinub NO!"
Once Swinub approached, Beartic leaned down, sniffing it. Swinub began sniffing it back, gently licking Beartic's nose. Beartic huffed, turning back around and heading back into the trees. Dallas rushed over to pick up his Swinub, clinging to it. "P L E A S E. Do not ever do that again." Swinub licked Dallas' face ever so gently. He was lucky he didn't have to battle this time.
Dallas didn't know how much time had passed, but he had to keep moving. The snow was starting to pick up. It was getting harder for him to keep his eyes open. WHO in their right mind would travel like this. "Ch-ch-ch-" Dallas couldn't get the name out. He pointed towards a light in the distance. Charizard grabbed Dallas and picked Swinub out of the snow, flying towards this light. As they approached, it appeared to be a bakery. Dallas speed walked inside, a heater immediately blew on him from above. Luckily the place was big enough for Charizard to come inside. It shook the snow off of itself and relaxed. Swinub did the same. As Dallas heated up in the booth, he figured he could order something to eat. It did look a bit busy in here though. One of the chef's came out, alerting the people that he had run out of berries. The crowd seemed irritated. ((Why are there so many people here. This bakery is in the middle of a no where blizzard zone.... Wait did he say berries?)) The chef was prepared to close shop to go outside, but Dallas stopped him. "Hey, I got some berries." The chef looked at Dallas up and down. Dallas took out the little baggie he had, handing it to the chef. He was delighted and relieved that he didn't have to go out in the storm. The chef announced that a new batch of goodies would be prepared immediately. As a result of his kindness, the chef gave Dallas a Rare Candy and 5BP deposited into his account!
"Oh sweet! Thanks Mister!"
After he finished heating up and putting something in his stomach, Dallas prepared himself to go back out in the storm. As he stood to the glass, he realized that the storm had cleared up. There were a few more buildings revealed. It seems he had already made it to Snowpoint City! Or at least a part of it. "Oh..." Dallas figured it was time to check in to the Pokemon Center and go find the Gym Leader.
