BACKGROUND

Greta's early life is shrouded in mystery as it seems to be one of the few thing she avoids talking about. She has many stories of her past however connecting the dots between the stories proves difficult, implying some of them may be fabrications.

Greta claims that throughout her life she has practiced many different professions but could never commit to any of them, including but not limited to being a Pro Battler, Coordinator, Breeder and even a Pokémon Ranger, but it's uncertain how accurate these claims may be. The most likely truth of her professional background is that she once worked in construction, as she and her Pokémon prove to be very skilled at construction and demolition.

Greta has apparently travelled across several of the known regions and is currently travelling the Sinnoh region, possibly to visit her Grandson who resides in Celestic Town alongside his wife; an accomplished historian. Her Grandson is currently caring for her Granbull, which was once her starter Pokémon, as well as two Golem which she has gifted him. The two Geodude in her possession are apparently descendants of those Golem.

PERSONALITY

Greta proves to be a very hands-on, no-nonsense woman with little concern for how others perceive her. As a result she speaks her mind to the fullest extent, regardless of whether others may feel offended. It's easy to consider Greta as rude due to her unfiltered nature and her seemingly indifferent view of people.

This attitude of her's does not ring true for all situations however, as she is shown to be much more patient and polite when interacting with Pokémon. She usually speaks to her Pokémon as if they were her own children, especially her two Geodude: Nuts and Bolts, who can be seen guarding Greta at all times. She claims to be an experienced battler, and while she may partake in battles as a source of exercise and stress-relief for her Pokémon, she admits that she often finds battling monotonous.

While she has a preference for Pokémon, It isn't unheard of for Greta to open up to humans, and despite being quite stern, she has a strong maternal side to her. Should she come to like somebody, she might enjoy sharing retellings of her past with a hint of whimsy to them, however many details of her stories are thought to be exaggerated or outright fabricated for the sake of entertainment. Because of her supposed library of experience and old age, Greta is extremely knowledgeable about the world around her and rarely needs the use of her Pokédex to identify Pokémon she encounters.
