WELCOME TO GALAR
Six months have passed since the events of Sword and Shield, and Galar has once again opened its gates for all to participate in the new season of the Pokémon League.
With only a select few receiving an endorsement, these Trainers must travel the region and win all 8 Gym Badges in order to participate in the final tournament as the whole of Galar watches.
Mission Name: Matriarchal Meltdown! Description: In the nearby Verdant Forest a once peaceful matriarch and her tribe have begun attacking campers ever since the disappearance of the Pokémon Pinchers. Reports say they were spotted wearing strange red amulets and attacking anything that invades their territory; perhaps the amulets are the cause of the strange behavior? Headmistress Cynthia is looking for any brave students willing to peacefully calm the group of Pokémon down! Rewards: 1 Heart Scale and 5 Battle Points Restrictions: Use your Capture Styler to calm them down.
MATRIATRCHAL MELTDOWN
Darcy had looked over the mission board, She felt in the mood to help people out when one of the help flyers caught her eye, a group of pokemon were seen acting strangely wearing oddly coloured necklaces. It was in the Verdant forest no less, She stared intently at the flyer to gain any other details she could.
Leon chewed on a stick of gum, blowing up a decent sized bubble before allowing it to pop before he continued the process all over again. The School year was drawing to a close and soon he would be leaving but he had some unfinished business to take care of. Popping another bubble, he noticed Darcy looking at the board. He suddenly remember he needed to thank her for the cookies she made for him over Christmas.
"Hello Darcy!" He waved, approaching the girl. He opened his mouth to thank her but the flyer caught his eye and he looked over the details. "Strange acting Pokemon?" He studied the flyer details for a moment before looking back at Darcy. "If you want, I could help out? Uh, that is if you are planning on going."
Spooks appeared behind the two as they spoke. He noticed Darcy's lovely skirt and approached, walking too close that it looked like he was peaking up at her panties. Leon being used to Spooks antics, quickly spotted his Pokemon and grabbed him before he could make them both end up with a black eye. "Spooks would also love to help." He smiled but it was forced as he held on tightly to his ghost Pokemon.
Darcy smiled when she saw Leon, it had been a while and it would nice to end the year off with seeing him again. "Sure, we can do it together, It's in the verdant forest which is quite a walk, it also says something about those capture stylers we got." Darcy always kept hers close in case of emergencies. "Perhaps its a mission from the rangers." Darcy looked down to Spooks and wagged her finger "No" when he attempted to pull at or look under her skirt, but thought he was being harmless as always.
Darcy clicked open a pokeball and Wormadam fell into her arms, it was one of the weaker of her pokemon, and it needed some training so thought it was time to bring it out.
Leon's grip on Spooks tightened ever so slight as she mentioned the word stylus. No, that can't be right. He quickly ran his eyes over the flyer again and paled as war flashbacks began to run through his head. He hated ranger styled pokemon calming, it made him want to pull out his hair. Internally screaming, he looked back at Darcy as she awaited his response.
"I...Yeah, seems like it. Well I have mine somewhere around." If he wanted to be honest, he would have told her that he threw his in a corner and let it collect dust. He had to build a bridge and get over it, he had to repay her back for those delicious cookies.
Darcy smiled once more, She took Leons arm and linked it with hers, practically dragging or guiding him down the hallways towards outside. "All right, off we go!" Darcy made her way out of the academy and off towards the Verdant forest, if Leon needed anything before they left, now was the chance.
His face felt warm as she linked arms with his. He never been this close to a girl before and now that he got a better look, Darcy was cute. Shaking his head, he looked forward and focused. "Ah Darcy, could you wait at the front, I need my Styler." He just hoped he could find it without making her wait any longer than she needed to.
"Yeah sure." Darcy unlinked their arms so Leon could get to his styler in his dorm. She stood out front, fixing up her Wormadams coat as it had gotten a little dirty. "Gwendolyn you need to take better care of your coat!" She pulled out some loose twigs so the coat itself looked nice and pristine. Good as new.
Leon rushed back to his room and began the frantic search for his styler. He turned his bedroom upside down but it was no use. Pacing, he couldn't think of what to do. Spooks watched his trainer stress and chew on something as he did. Leon paced back and fourth before stopping and slowly looking at Spooks who had the Styler in his mouth the whole time. "WHY?!" He grabbed it and rushed back to Darcy at the entranced, completely puffed out.
"Got ...it" He said, holding it up with some drool on it. Don't ask.
Darcy finished picking random twigs out of Wormadams coat as Leon made his way out, she then pointed forward, a twig in hand. "To Verdant forest!" Leon and Darcy walked quite a way towards the Verdant forest and upon arrival it was evident something was going on. Trees were caked in scratches from rampaging Pokemon and some trees were even ripped from their roots. "We should be on high alert, so they don't take us by suprise." Darcy was extremely nervous given her past with wild pokemon attacks.
The forest was supposed to be calm but as they walked deeper, the damage around the area proved something was wrong. Leon wasn't too scared given how many angry pokemon he had encountered but he could sense Darcy wasn't as confident. "Here." he offered her a lemon drop candy to calm her nerves, it always helped him.
He kept an eye out for the strange pokemon and was ready to grab his pokeball.
She nodded and placed the Candy in her pocket for when she needed it most. "Thanks." They walked further into the Forest, there were footprints on the floor in the mud. It looked like several overlapped footprints were in the mud as if there was a whole stampede. "It said they'd attack anything that invades their territory, so they could come out any minute."
"You make it sound like you want them to ambush us." he chuckled as they walked. He glanced down at the footprints for a moment before noticing some dirt moving. Looking up, he turned around and saw a horde of angry Nidoran charging towards them. Grabbing Darcy, he moved them both out of the way before they were trampled.
The Nidoran skidded to a halt and faced to duo, angered and ready to used their spikes to poison them. Leon quickly pulled out his pokeball and released his Frillish, Queenie to battle.
Darcy couldn't reply before Leon had thrust them to the side of the stampede. The Blue and Purple pokemon stared them down, she whipped out her styler, and held Wormadam in her other arm. "Better Late than never, right!" She was nervous and took a few seconds before she whipped out her Styler. The small spinning top span out of it and danced across the floor between all the Nidoran. Darcy moved the styler and a loop formed around a small group wearing the red pendant and looped it a few times, completing the capture. The small group of Nidoran seemed to calm down and snap out of the apparent mind control. Darcy looked to Leon. "Did you see that?"
Such grace and skill. Leon could barely look away as she used her styler with such style! He shook his head and approached the Nidoran as they calmed down. "That was amazing. I'm glad I didn't try otherwise we would be pin cushions." he sweated before reaching out and checking on the health of the pokemon. They were in good condition, tired but good.
He reached out and started to unclipped the amulets from their necks to free them. Once he removed the collars, they skittered off into the bushes. "I wonder how many are there we have to tame." He mostly meant Darcy because Leon knew he would either anger the pokemon more with his dance styler moves or poke out an eye he was so uncoordinated with it.

Darcy gave Leon a hand unclipping some of the necklaces. "Hopefully not a whole lot more, But the mission said something about a matriarchal Pokemon, so I assume we have to focus on finding that." Darcy looked about at the wreckage and the confused Nidoran. "Poor Pokemon, I don't think they knew what they were doing." Another noise could be heard, and Darcy turned towards it. "Maybe the Mother is that way." She looked to Leon for their next move.
