It was about time they got a break, Vander had become exhausted from midterms, his shoulders ached a little bit, as he experienced stress he had never thought to ever go through in his life. Who knew that being a student was all that difficult? But it was very rewarding, his efforts were surely paying off, and to some of his teachers it was clear that he was never a bad student, just someone incredibly lazy. Even Lady Cynthia commended his sudden rise in his grades, which further motivated him to pour hours of his time to study and hone his battling skills.
But battling was what made him excited, not theory. Sure, theory was fun for a while as he hypothesized strategies and calculated movements, but it was nothing when compared against the actual experience. He got so lost in thought inside his tent, that he barely even noticed when Darcy left a gift for him, and only realized that the box was inside when he shifted around to put his notebook near his pack. He quickly opened it up, and ended up with a light smile on his face after realizing what was the rock about, it was an odd one, but something that he would, eventually, cherish in the future.
Burgh's letter however, made his heart race with haste. He couldn't absolutely believe it! Castelia's Gym Leader knows about him! And has his eyes on him too! That revelation almost turned out to be too much for him, as he let out a roar of victory inside his tent, scaring some of his classmates who were resting on their own ones beside his'. After leaning back, he just giggled to himself and passed his hands on his face, cleaning it up just a bit; hopefully this trip won't turn as eventful as the last one, he's still recovering from the poison's side effects from last time.
