Draco's Journey.

November 16th, 2010
“What about Sinnoh” Lucille said pointing to then map of the world in Draco’s room,
“Maybe. How about Unova though?”. Draco said.
Lucille replied, “I already been there though and that wouldn't be fun watching you battle against gyms i have already beaten.”
Draco and his 16 year old sister Lucille, were discussing which region to go to together. There is an old tradition in there family, that when a member of their family has obtained his or her first Pokemon they would travel to a distant region with a member of the family. Lucille went through this 5 years ago when she was given her first Pokemon, and went to Unova with her father while Draco stayed home with their mother, despite Draco’s protest at the time, of wanting to go with them. While there, Lucille took on all the gyms and entered the Pokemon league, she made it pretty far from what Draco had heard but she still lost.
But now it was Draco’s turn, now that he is his first Pokemon.
“Deinoooo” a voice cried out out.
Draco turned to look at the little dragon facing his direction. Draco was absolutely delighted when Lucille gave him that Deino the other day as a gift for his 11th birthday. And was further surprised when she said she would be joining him on his adventure to the region of his choice.
Draco always thought that we would be traveling with his father, like he did with Lucille's journey, not that Draco minded. However Lucille wanted to have a chance to challenge another official league, so traveling with Draco was a perfect opportunity for that. And for Draco this was exciting because he would have someone to compete with.
But before they could go however, Draco still needed to decide where they were going. So here they were in his room looking through a map of the world. Lucille then pointed to one area on the map.
“What about the Galar region.”
“What do they have there?”
“I hear its the only part of the world where you can dynamax.”
“Dynamax?”
“Its where you can make any Pokemon giant during a battle.”
“Really? Any Pokemon? Even Deino? Draco asked excitedly as he pointed at his starter Pokemon who continued to face his direction.
Lucille smiled and said
“From what I heard it seems like any Pokemon can Dynamx there.”
“That's so cool. We have to go there.” Draco said excitedly before turning to his Pokemon.
“What do you say Deino, do you want go to Galar and be a giant.”
“Deinoooo”. His starter cried out happily.
Lucille then laughed.
“That sounds like a yes to me. Alright then Galar it is.”
Just then They heard there mother shout out.
“Kids, Dinner.”
“Come on lets go, we can discuss this further with Mom and Dad”
“Alright, come on Deino," Draco said picking up the little blind dragon and carrying him down stairs to the dining room.
At the dinner table, Draco sat with his mother, father, and Lucille.
At one point his mother asked
"Did you decide where you two are going?"
"Were going to Galar."
"Oh thats nice." she said.
"You can make your Pokemon giant there" Draco said excitably
His dad then said "You mean Dynamax."
"Yeah that's it."
After they finished eating dinner, Draco was about to ask for his birthday cake from yesterday for dessert, when his father said
"Draco why don't you go up to your room for now. Me and your mother need to have a talk with your sister."
"Why cant I stay?" Draco asked
His father replied
"This is between us and her, now please."
"Can I at least have some cake first?"
"You can have it later."
Draco then got up from the table taking Deino who had finished eating his bowl of Pokemon food on the ground, Draco carried him upstairs to his room. Draco sat there for several minutes thinking. He finally had a Pokemon now and they were still treating him like a small child.
After a few minutes Draco could start hearing them from downstairs, he couldn't hear what they were saying though from upstairs, but it was loud enough to know they were arguing. This was not surprising to Draco. He had noticed for the past few weeks, that there was some kind of tension between Lucille and her father.
After a few more minuter of yelling, Draco then heard footsteps coming up the stairs. Lucille then entered his room.
"Sorry about that" she said
"What did Dad want with you?"
Lucille then sighed
"He was just worried about something happening to us. "
"Worried? What does he think would happen to us?"
Lucille remained silent for a second, looking like she wanted to say something but replied,
"Ill tell you about it when we get to Galar."
Draco was tempted to push her to answer now, but decided against it.
"Okay" Draco said.
"Now how about you go downstairs have that cake, I'm sure with Deino's help you can finish it off," Lucille joked.
"Forgot all about that. Lets go get some cake Deino."
Deino then cried out happilly, "Deinoooo"
Draco then picked up his Pokemon again and walked past Lucille, and proceeded down the stairs. When he reached the bottom step he heard something, scratching at the front door. With Deino still in his arms, Draco went to go see what was on the other side. Before he could get any closer he heard,
“I’ll get it Draco”
Draco turned around to see his father approach from the dinning room. He reached the door and opened it. His father was then immediately greeted with a column of fire, completely engulfing him in flames.
Draco eyes widened in horror at the sight. Everything seemed to slow down around him. He could hear his father screaming at the top of his lungs in pain as the fire continue to envelop him, before collapsing on the floor. Then someone, or more accurately, something entered through the door, walking past his dad still screaming on the ground. A great beast stepped into the living room. It was a Pokemon, its fur was a golden color, It had red eyes, and several tails on its back.
When it fully entered the room, Draco then heard a voice shriek “OH MY ARCEUS!!!!”
Draco turned towards the direction of the voice to see his mother standing in front of the dinning room with a face of absolute horror. Before she could say anything else, another column of fire erupted from the beast’s mouth and engulfed his mother. She then proceeded to join her husband in harmony of singing the song of pain, with her voice higher pitched upon just entering this song, while his fathers was rapidly fading. Draco fell to his knees at from the sight, from the screams of agony. Deino in his arms was shaking with fright, crying out
"Deinoooooo."
It luckily could not physically see the chaos before them, but it could hear the screams, and the fire.
“NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!”
Draco looked up to see Lucille on top of the steps, screaming. Draco was scared she too would be quickly burned. The flames however did not come, Draco turned back to the beast who had turned her attention from the burning mother, to Lucille on the stairs. It did not attack her like it did to mom and dad, it just stared at her, as there parents cries of pain were nearly over.
Lucille with eyes filled with tears, and absolute rage pulled out her pokeball and threw it at he bottom of steps, Her partner Pokemon Lucario, emerged from the pokeball with an almost equally angry face that matched her trainer.
“CLOSE COMBAT!!!” Lucille yelled at the top of her lungs
The Lucario then rushed up to beast that remained motionless, staring at its new prey. Lucille at the same time rushed down the stairs her eyes locked on to the battle. Lucario was ready to deliver a pummel of rapid punches, however right before it could make contact, the beast then jumped back towards the dinning room, then it breathed another wave of fire from her mouth sending her Pokemon stumbling back in pain. It wasn't as bad as there parents but it was still painful. Lucille then reached the bottom of the steps, and ran in front of Draco.
The beast stared at the injured Lucario, as it slowly got up before turning her attention to Lucille, who also stared at that monster without a word. Draco could no longer hear his parents screams any more. They now have now gone silent. There bodies were motionless as the fire continued to burn them, and starting to spread to floor surrounding them. After a moment of silence he heard his sister say.
“Draco…. Run.”
With her back turned against Draco’s, he could not see her face, but that voice was filled with both fear, and unbound anger.
Draco remained in the same spot, knelling on the ground, hugging Deino tightly in his arms.
“Draco, run.” Lucille repeated.
The beast was in the dinning room past the front door, If Lucille could hold that thing off for a moment and if he was quick he might be able to make a break for it. It was then that beast finally turned its attention to him. Its red eyes met his. Then it smiled at him. Draco was lost as he stared into the face of that smiling monster, the flames still raging around his parents bodies.
“DRACO RUN!!!”
He couldn't move. He couldn't even speak. All he could do was clung to the frightened little dragon in his arms as his eyes filled with tears, stared into those red eyes filled with delight among all this suffering.
The beast then turned her attention back to Lucille.
Lucille was a strong trainer, she made all the way to the Unova league when she first started as a trainer. She made it to the top of Mt. Battle, a feat that not many people could do. And Draco personally saw her win many coliseum tournaments in the stands over the years.
Draco watched as Lucille lose Pokemon after Pokemon fighting that thing from hell. She was the best trainer Draco knew and could only watch as she kept losing to that creature. More flames were spread throughout the battle causing the house to slowly be bathed in fire.
When her last Pokemon Lucario, fell to the ground, trying desperately to get up. Lucille then finally then turned her face to Draco. Her eyes no longer had the hatred from earlier, but were now entirely filled with fear. With a voice that matched her expression she cried out one last time
“DRACO RUN!!!!!!”
The beast then looked at Draco again it smiled before it turned its attention back to Lucario, preparing a sinister ball of black fire before launching it at the downed Pokemon, an explosion of flames shook the room, and all Draco could see then was darkness…...
Draco woke up with a jolt, he was no longer knelling on the ground of the burning building clinging on to Deino. He was sitting in a seat, next to a window, showing the sky he was now soaring across, The 20 year old Draco calmed down as he relaxed in his seat as he remembered where he was. He was currently on a plane and must have dozed off.
10 years. Its been almost 10 years since that night. Since he head his parents screams, since he lost his sister. All because of that Ninetails.
Just then a voice came on the intercom,
"Good afternoon, we just entered the Galar region. We should be arriving at Wydon airport very soon."
Draco sat in his seat staring out the window. He never thought he would ever set foot in Galar after that night. He also couldn't believe that out of all the places in the world where he could hear sightings of Lucille and that monster named Bethany was in Galar. Draco didn't know if it was fate, coincidence, or simply Bethany messing with him again. However he knew this was his one last chance to win.
Draco remembered his previous encounter with Bethany. 2 years ago on that ship, he learned that thing was with a psychotic cult, that she was a Shadow Pokemon, and the human who she uses as a puppet wherever she goes, was his sister who he once thought long dead. Draco intended to kill Bethany on that stormy night. He trained for nearly 8 years to fight that thing, in the end not only did he lose but she toyed with him while doing it. Draco knew he was extremely lucky that he got out of there in one piece. He thought he was going to die that night, drowning in the stormy sea.
Instead he woke up on the shores of Citadark Isle alone. He wasn't certain on how he got there, but he suspected it had something to do with that shadow before lost consciousness. Either way it didn't matter.
Nothing was waiting for him on that island, but the last chance he has now been given, one last chance to make things right. He knew he was not going to get that lucky again. He had one more chance to kill that thing and save her. He had to win. Dying trying was not an option anymore. Otherwise Lucille would be the one who will continue to suffer.
