Cherry Blossoms was out of it now, riddled with needled and wilting into an unconscious state as the sun had faded away. It was a devastating blow to Gardenia's moral, hoping Cherry would've lasted at least one more round, but alas. She drew back Cherry and sent forth Rosemary again, plotting her move... ALl of them were likely to be ineffective to the Gengar... Except.

"Rosemary! Use your Hidden Power!" In a dance like fashion then, the battered roserade summoned forth flames from within and shot forth a beam of energy to the Gengar, hoping to sear it; The battle was almost surely lost though, unless a miracle were to occur.

It seemed that earlier application of Spf+50 helped Spooks push through the fire attack, he was charred but quickly shook it off and grinned madly at his opponent. Leon smirked slightly before calling out his next attack. "Psychic!"

Spooks had never used this move before and it almost seemed unnatural for a ghost to know this but nevertheless, he unleashed a forceful barrage of psychic energy onto Rosemary.

Spooks took 135 dmg

In a desperate bid, the Roserade charged forth andf slide below the wave of psychic might, tumbling forth before unloading a heavy power whip attack at the Gengar in retaliation. Gardenia's team had burnt all of its' lucky dodges now, it all came down to fate now. "Come on... We can keep it up!" Gardenia cheered her friend and combatant on, getting tense, but keeping an aura of joyous confidence even in defeat.

Spooks grew confidet in his battle and easily moved out of range of the power whip. He cackled loudly before sending out a Dark Pulse at Rosemary. Leon clicked his tongue, annoyed Spooks did that wothout his consent but he allowed it, it wasnt often he'd seen Spooks this happy. The Dark pulse smashed down onto Rosemary.

To say Rosemary had grown weary of battle after this savage beating was an understatement. The flower-power pokemon looked back to Gardenia with beaten and pleading expression. Gardenia frowned at how savagely her team had been beaten, and sighed. "One last round Rosemary! If we can gain ground, we're still in this! I believe in you, in you believe in me!" The roserade nodded, rising from the ground after the assault of the dark pulse and shot forth another globe of slime, using Sludge Bomb!!

Spooks was shook as he was slammed by a sludge bomb and insulted that Rosemary poisoned him. He was supposed to be the king of poison, not some flower pokemon. Wiping off the sludge, he looked to Leon. "Its okay buddy, use Psychic one more time!"

Spooks laughed and send the psychic energy all around Rosemary, wanting to finish this off.

As the psychic blast sent the Roserade hurdling to the ground, dashed upon the earth, tumbling along, a red light would engulf them and pull them into the poke-ball. Gardenia, smiled confidently still. "And it is with that great display you've earned this; The Forest Badge! It will be your second step into challenging the elites of Sinnoh... And between you and me, no matter how hard any gym fight may seem, this is all just training compared to what some others' might do when pitched in battle against you."

Knowingly, Gardenia nodded, placing one hand at each hip. "They will not hold back on their arsenal as I have." She gave a whistle then, as forest pokemon seemingly sprung from all angles, like hidden spectators of the battle, all rearing their heads in greeting to Leon. "Of course there would be no fairness in fighting a whole forest for a badge... But when did truly dangerous folk fight fair?" A cocky smile masked her concern. "So you'll likely want this too; Here. a TM machine for Energy Ball. I don't know if your team of ghosts could use it very well, but, I've enlisted the aid of a group of trevenants in the forest surrounding Eterna City. I made a pact with them when they first arrived from Unova that we would protect the forest as they protect our city. Its' why everything seems so unphased here. Go to them, challenge of them, and if you catch them, that TM may be put to good use! And it would compliment your team well to have some flower power in an ally!"

Leon beamed as he finally beat Gardenia. She wasn't as stressful as Volkner was but still a challenge. He ran to Spooks and lifted up his pokemon, spinning him around. "We did it! Great work Spooks and Flick!" The two fist bumped before looking to Gardenia.

He accepted the badge and placed it in its case along with the beacon badge.
