Pokémon Breeding |
• Breeding is a method of obtaining a new Pokémon by producing and hatching an Egg. It also refers to Pokémon grooming and caretaking. Pokémon can be bred by leaving two compatible Pokémon in the care of a Pokémon Breeder. Two Pokémon are compatible if they are of the same species (or share at least one Egg Group) and are of opposite genders; alternatively, breeding is usually still possible as long as one of them is Ditto, even if the other parent is genderless, and in fact, genderless Pokémon can breed only with Ditto. Pokémon in the Undiscovered egg group cannot breed whatsoever, and Ditto cannot breed with itself. • If you do not own a Ditto, we will provide one for you. We will also provide an Everstone if you are breeding for a non-Alolan Pokémon such as Ninetales or Sandshrew. • After an egg is made it will take at least three OOC* days for it to hatch. • What will hatch is a Rank 1 first-stage Pokémon of the female species' (or non-Ditto parent) evolutionary change. For example: If a female Jigglypuff mated with a male Audino the offspring would be a Jigglypuff of either gender. Alternatively, if a male Audino bred with a Ditto the offspring would be an Audino of either gender. In the Alola region, a Pokémon that is bred that has a regional variant will always be the regional variant unless the parent of the variation that you want is holding an Everstone. • The only exception to this is when the mating Pokémon are gender counterparts. For example: If a Male Nidoran and Female Nidoran produced an offspring it could be either of its parents' species. The same applies to Volbeat and Illumise • The moves passed down through breeding are as follows: By default, the baby Pokémon will start with any moves that it learns from Rank 1. If both parents know a move that the baby can learn via leveling up, the Pokémon will inherit that move. If the father or mother knows any specific Egg moves that the baby can learn, the baby will inherit the move. If the parents both know different Egg moves, the mother's Egg moves are passed on first, then followed by the father's. For a baby Pichu, if either parent is holding a Light Ball, the Pichu will know Volt Tackle. Volt Tackle cannot be passed down as a normal Egg move. If this would result in the baby possessing more than four moves, the moves take priority in the order listed: Volt Tackle, mother's Egg moves, father's Egg moves, inherited level-up moves, baby's default moveset. The moves passed down will be ordered on the baby Pokémon by the priority listed above. • Outside of breeding, eggs can only be found through special events and missions. *Out-of-Character = Irl Days |
