Welcome to Veilstone City, known for its magnificent and steep mountains that surround the town. The stone walls of the city may seem cold and desolate, and the isolation from other areas can be daunting to some. However, this is a large area for all trainers to explore, especially as the eighth largest town in the Pokemon world!
If you feel like spending some money on fancy clothes or items, then come and visit the Veilstone Department Store, where there is a massive array of shops to browse through. If you're feeling lucky, then stop by the Veilstone Game Corner where you can take a break from traveling and indulge in a bit of gambling! Veilstone City is also well-known for its stones and meteorites, so if you have the desire to learn more about those, then this is a very good place to start!
The gym certainly makes up for the seemingly dismal city with its Fighting-type Gym Leader, Maylene, who may seem small but is certainly not someone to underestimate. Her fighting spirit is stronger than most, so make sure to be prepared and keep up! After all, she is one of the toughest around.
Do not falter in the face of Maylene, or your fight to the League will already be a lost cause.
