Give us a Pose!

[ A small cafe in the heart of Jubilife was buzzing, not for its outstanding coffee and tea but for someone inside. A young woman, hair chocolate brown, violet eyes like gems, pale skin like snow. She was trying to enjoy a hot cup of Chai latte but the paparazzi was making it hard as they flashed their cameras through the window.

The owner grabbed her broom and tried to show them away "If you aint buying, then scam!" She waved her broom and shooed them away eventually. Her snubble growled and borked at them for good measure.

Maiko blushed, feeling embarrassed she bought this negative attention to this small cafe, she just wanted an hour without being harassed. Her houndour, Seth, sat under her chair, being alert to everyone that got near his trainer. He was specially trained to protect her from unwanted advances. ]

Sage entered the cafe in which he had spent many hours throughout his childhood, seeing the large crowd. Sage tried to force his way through the crowd, mostly so he could get some coffee, but also so he could see the fuss.

"Hey, Captain Hook, watch it!" came a voice, which Sage chose to ignore.

"I just want a coffee," Sage muttered under his breath. As he finally pushed through, he saw a rather pretty woman drinking something. He sat down a few seats away and said hello to the owner, whom he had known well.

"I'll get your coffee right away Sage," she said while waving her broom towards the crowd. When the crowd eventually scattered, Sage saw a mug filled with coffee placed in front of him. Black coffee of course, he never had anything else. He looked around the rather small cafe, seeing a familiar face of a man who was reading the newspaper. He was there almost every day ever since Sage was a kid.

"I wonder what the crowd was for," Sage wondered out loud as he took a sip of his coffee.

With a sigh, Maiko could finally enjoy the much needed peace and quiet. It had been a busy week for her with dozen for photo shoots, vlogs and dealing with the public. She needed this coffee and she was going to enjoy it. Sipping it, she glanced up at the new customer, he was young and wore an eye patch. Maiko raised a brow, she never saw a normal person wear one before, only one photo shoots as a fashion style.

She managed to just overhear him and her cheeks grew a faint pink. "Sorry, it was because of me." She gave Sage an apologetic look knowing that he had to deal with the crowd outside.

Sage raised an eyebrow at her comment, confused.
"I'm sorry, I'm not sure I understand," Sage said, taking another sip. He looked at her curiously. She seemed to be a few years older than him, but probably in her early twenties. He noticed how she had a Houndour under her seat that looked awfully protective. Sage put down his mug and adjusted his tie, a habit that he probably needed to break.

it was probably for the best she didn't explain her situation, it would have come off rather snobby if she said she was a well known model. Maiko shook her head and gave a smile. "Ah nothing, sorry for interrupting your coffee." She looked out the window and went about her business, sipping her latte and trying to enjoy this moment of peace.

Hey eyes narrowed as she saw a group forming across the road and decided to move seats away from the window to a more hidden part of the cafe. Seth was quick to his feet, following Maiko closely, making sure his shoulder was almost always touching her calf. It was something similar to how officer dogs were trained and he even gave Sage a look of 'Don't come near her'.

"Ah, no worries," Sage said with a polite smile. As she moved, he noticed the Houndour being practically glued to her leg. He smiled at the Houndour that seemed to try to intimidate him.

"That's an awfully loyal Houndour," Sage said, looking back up from the Pokemon to the woman. He took another sip, finishing his coffee. He put down the mug and paid for his coffee, but he didn't get up from his seat. He usually liked sitting here after he finished just to kill time, and this is no exception.

Maiko glanced over at Sage then at Seth who was laying under her seat once more and being lookout. "Thank you, he is very good at his job protecting me. I would be lost without him." She reached down and scratched behind his ear and for a moment he relaxed and didn't take his job seriously. Once she removed her hand from behind his ear, he returned to stay on guard.

She placed her hands around her warm cup and smiled. "I noticed the owner knew who you were, is this your usual place to come for coffee?"

"Ah, it used to be. I haven't been in the area for about two years but when I was younger I would come here a lot," Sage answered. He smiled to himself, recalling times he'd spend just relaxing in this small cafe. He then looked at the woman.

"If you don't mind me asking, what is your name?" Sage asked curiously. It was a formality they hadn't gotten out of the way yet, so Sage decided to ask.

How nice, Maiko liked the idea of going to a cafe where the owner knew you so well that you didn't even have to worry about what to order because they always knew what you liked. She rubbed her finger on the rim of her coffee cup and thought about his request. She couldn't think of a alias and seeing as he didn't know why she was causing a ruckus, she felt confident his reaction wouldn't be bad.

"Im Maiko Tsutaya, a pleasure to meet you." She gave Sage a warm smile.

"Sage Beech," he answered. "Like wise," he said as he extended his hand for a handshake. He was very curious about her slight hesitance, but decided it was best he didn't question it. He looked down at Houndour.
"Does he battle? He seems quite strong and like he wants a fight," Sage said with a smile.

Sage. What a lovely name and it had meaning as well. Maiko hesitated shaking his hand but did so quickly. Seth ears stood up on alert as he watched the two make contact but didn't attack.

Maiko leaned back in her chair and sipped her coffee. She suddenly stopped when he asked if Seth battled and her eyes lit up. "I would love to battle you!" Maiko was now leaning forward, eyes locked onto Sage's and she was smiling but it didnt seem friendly. "Where shall we go?"

"There's a battling field around the corner," Sage answered, looking back at Maiko, his eyes-or rather, eye-matching her gaze. Sage gave a small smile back, though his mind was in another place. The gears in his head were already turning, thinking about what the Houndour might have for attacks and what would be a fair match.
"Just say the word, and we will go there," he said.

Finally Maiko could get that itch she had been trying to scratch for weeks. She only experienced battling a few times but the rish she got, the excitement, the powerful moves. Her whole body tingled and she had to try and contain herself for a little while longer. "I'm ready to go now. Lead the way."

Maiko got up from her table and followed Sage out, her crowd following from a distance trying to take that perfect shot of the model.
