B R Y O N Y
Darkness. Nothing but black and silence was in Bryony's mind as her consciousness slipped out from under her. It was almost... peaceful. A sweet escape from the chaos of the Battle of Azure Academy and into the silence of sleep. For just a moment, she even relished in it; she was safe here. Safe in the confines of nothingness and emptiness. For once, the dark didn't scare her.
Until, a sharp pain burst through her sanctuary with a fuchsia flash. Her brows furrowed, her jaw clenched, and she felt as if something was wrong here. Where was she? Why did she not feel solid ground? She was lucid, finally, but where she couldn't tell.
Another flash of pain erupted, this one harsher than the last. She grimaced, annoyed at the feeling before it suddenly came quickly and repetitively. She knew she was unconscious, she knew she was experiencing a dream, but the pain so was so real that even in the depths of slumber she couldn't help but let a scream escape her throat.
Nightmarish images flashed through her mind; Zoroarks, Castelia's streets clogged with smoke from Plasma attacks, ash raining from the sky above, the sight of blood on the auditorium floor, her group of escapees suffering from various injuries, each worst than the last-
But then it all stopped. She felt her back hit the ground, her head, and then it was all black again. Silent. Bryony, once more, felt nothing. And Bryony relished the feeling again.
---
Until consciousness slipped back into her. She felt herself off the ground, for sure, but a set of hands and arms on her. Bryony groggily shifted her head, exhausted from the psychological pain earlier and reaching for whoever was holding her, eyes still closed. She knew they were running, whoever they were, and heard their voice distantly calling for others to follow. Sleep called her back more loudly, and her body became heavier again, but she manged to get a few words out before she fell unconscious again.
"Don't leave me behind."
